OUR INSPIRATION

When NIOBY’s founder, Nancy, first read Get Off Your Donkey! by Reggie McNeal, the message struck a chord that would shape everything to come. The book’s call to ‘get down off your donkey and help someone in need’ became more than a phrase, it became a mission. Nancy saw in its pages a reminder that faith isn’t meant to stay seated; it’s meant to move, to serve, to show up for others. From that spark grew Not In Our Backyard, a group of ordinary women determined to make extraordinary good happen right here at home. We may not change the whole world, but we can change our street, our school, our neighbor’s day. And in doing so, we live out the kind of compassion that builds a community worth living in.
